Aseefa Bhutto Zardari

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is a rights activist, global citizen, Rotary Ambassador, and former UN Ambassador for Polio Eradication.

She was born on February 3rd, 1993, to former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto and former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari is the first Pakistani child to be administered polio drops by her mother, who then initiated the national immunization campaign to eradicate polio from Pakistan.

She completed her bachelor’s in Politics and Sociology from Oxford Brookes University, UK and pursued her master’s degree in Global Health at University College London (UCL). She aims to utilize her education for her commitment to the cause of a healthier Pakistan.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari aspires to ensure a polio-free Pakistan. Being the UN Ambassador for polio eradication, she collaborated with Pakistan’s previous government and helped in eradicating polio from Pakistan by 70%.

Lending a helping hand in improving the health sector in Pakistan, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has been paying visits to different healthcare centers, engaging with the management to stay updated about the facilities as well as requirements – in order to play her part effectively.

Saleem MandviWalla

Saleem Mandviwalla belongs to an educated aristocratic family of Karachi. With a love for flying and soaring the skies, Mr. Mandviwalla graduated from Fort Worth School of Aviation in Fort Worth, Texas USA Back in 1981 and was authorize with a commercial pilots license from the United States of America- which makes it all more unique to come across a politician who can fly a plane! Amongst other hidden talents in early years was having an athletic sports background excelling in swimming and field hockey memories displayed on a proud trophy case on the wall from glory days. Which is why it is no surprise to see him on a sports bicycle on a Sunday Afternoon ridding to stay fit as fiddle.

Saleem Mandviwalla has a strong acumen coming from a renowned business family in Karachi since 1921, he inherited it from his forefathers, with his vast business in certain sectors Saleem Mandviwalla ran the business with a keen eye and zest and in a very early age he reached to its peak.

With his cosmic background in Aviation, Finance, Economy, Trade and Investment he held various positions in these sectors for more than 30 years He got his graduation degree in Aeronautics from Fortworth School of Aviation – Ft. Worth Texas USA in year 1981.

His efforts made Baluchistan the center of economic activities and Lasbela emerged as industrially and commercially most active region of the province. Mr. Mandviwalla during BOI days liberalized the country’s regulatory environment to facilitate FDI and introduced the idea of establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Pakistan.

After elected as Senator in 2012 and ensuring remarkable improvements as finance minister of Pakistan in 2015 he glorified his time as Chairman, Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue and Economic by holding 150 record meetings in history of senate and resolved many countless issues of public importance. Later, He was appointed as non-statutory Member of National Finance Commission, representing Government of Sindh and was also appointed as Member of the Board of Institute of Business Administration, Karachi in 2015.

His services for Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Foundation are well acknowledged in the amid break of coronavirus he distributed the PPE kits, Masks, PCR and antibodies doses across Pakistan in all the provinces to the frontline health workers and the people in need. He always promoted education for the people in need and pay their school fees. He was the one he took the initiative of the project name as “Walk to School” and had so far provided 200,000 school shoes to the school children.

 

Mr. Asadullah Khan

Mr. Asad Ullah Khan is an eminent and young politician from Province of Khyber Pakhtun Khawan, following the footsteps of his father he joined Pakistan Peoples Party, his father Mr. Rahim Dad Khan was the founding leader of the Pakistan People’s Party and was one of the known directors of the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Foundation . He grew up in a political environment and remained the President from his constituency PK-55 during 2008 to 2016.

Back in 2008-2013 he was a political adviser of the then senior minister and was In charge of all developmental activities of his constituency. During this time he used to visit all the located villages and districts under his constituency along with union council organizations to meet the public and ask about their concerns and issues in order to meet their demands accordingly. He has been a true socialist since his early 20’s and has been raising voice for the segmented class of our society.

His Services for the welfare of the people was not limited during his term at his constituency; rather he used to organize free medical camps once a month and used to visit Govt primary and high schools to address the grievances of the teachers since 2016 and onwards. Currently, he is holding the position of General Secretary of PPP Mardan Division and is determined to change the system within his area.

Aftab Shaban Mirani

Aftab Shaban Mirani belongs to a noble aristocratic family from the Province of Sindh. He is a renowned politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan for the last 25 years. Previously, he has served as the 18th Chief Minister of Sindh in the 1990s. He is one of the oldest party workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party and had also served as Defence Minister of Pakistan in Benazir Bhutto’s government from October 1993 to November 1996.

Aftab Shahban Mirani was elected as MNA from NA-202 (Kamber Shahdadkot-I) in the 2018 Pakistani general election.

As one of the Founding Directors of the Foundation, he contributed to the initial development of SZABF in the late ’90s. During that time, he was the Chief Minister of Sindh. His notable contributions to the foundation include his work in the agriculture sector and education sector.

Taj Haider

Taj Haider is a notable left-wing politician, nationalist, playwright, mathematician, versatile scholar, and Marxist intellectual. He is one of the founding members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and has been the general secretary of the PPP since 2010.

A mathematician and scientist by profession, Haider provided vital leadership in the formative years of clandestine atomic bomb projects in the 1970s. He played a vital role in formulating the public policy concerning the atomic bomb projects. He is also noted for his writing of political plays for the Pakistan Television (PTV) from 1979 to 1985. He studied Mathematics at the Karachi University and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics in 1962. In 1965, he earned his MSc in mathematics from the same institution and opted for teaching mathematics at a local college, later moving to Karachi University. During his career at the Karachi University, Haider primarily taught and focused on ordinary differential equations and topics in multivariable calculus.

In 1990–2000, he contributed to PPP-initiated industrial projects such as the establishment of the Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC), Hub Dam, and various other social programs. In 2012, Haider was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz by President Asif Zardari for his services to the nation’s atomic bomb projects and public policy efforts. In 2013, he was appointed as the “media coordinator” for the provincial government of Sindh. Currently, he is the elected Senator on General Seat on the ticket of the Pakistan Peoples Party.

His services for the foundation include his work in the education sector of Pakistan. He has also opened a school and works in the sector of early childhood development. As a writer, he has always raised his voice against the wrongs that prevail in society.

Rukhsana Bangash

Rukhsana Bangash is a Pakistani politician who served as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. She was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of the Pakistan Peoples Party on a seat reserved for women from Punjab in the 2002 Pakistani general election. She was re-elected to the same position in the 2008 Pakistani general election.

Ms. Bangash has been associated with PPP since 1990 and is currently the Political Advisor to former President Asif Ali Zardari. She is also a social activist and works for the betterment of women, especially in Punjab. Her services for the Foundation are well-known as she has always raised her voice well for women empowerment.

Ghazala Gola

Ghazala Gola has served in Balochistan as the Minister for Women Development Minority Affairs and has always worked for the women of Balochistan. She is an agriculturist by profession and is also a social activist who has always raised her voice for the public welfare and worked to uplift the socio-eco position of women. She is the first woman politician in Balochistan to be in the parliament and is presently serving as President PPP Women Wing in the province.

Ghazala Gola has been working for women’s rights for 20 years. During her office, she moved several bills in a bid to provide rights to the women, including home-based workers bill, domestic violence bill, women harassment at workplace bill, women health, and education-related bills.

Besides SZABF, she is also a member of many other foundations which are working for women’s emancipation, such as Aurat Foundation, NGO CC Balochistan, NATPOW, and many others.

Nurjis Khan

Nurjis joined Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Foundation in 2020 and is currently working as the General Manager and Company Secretary. Initially, she is a Political Scientist with a keen look at the Foreign policies of the countries. She is motivated by the goal of advancing more equitably in her leadership qualities.

In her current role as GM and Company Secretary, her work includes guiding the Foundation’s overall working. She oversees all operational aspects of company strategy, helps set strategic goals, and is responsible for the flow of operations information to the chief executive and the board. As a Company Secretary, she works closely with the board of directors and executes the implementation of all of the working of foundation and manages Forum’s policy programs.

Nurjis originally is from Lahore. She did her Post-Graduation from Kinnaird College, Lahore, and began her career by working in the Research and Academic field. She has her expertise in areas of research, foreign relations, interpersonal communication skills, and planning and development. She has also been associated with the office of Deputy Chairman Senate and specializes in report making and organizing the events.

Other than her professional skills, She loves exploring beautiful landscapes and is fond of reading books.
